How Long Do I Have to Wear Braces?

The length of time you need to wear your braces will be dependent on your age and the severity of your condition, as well as other factors. Although many patients will wear their braces for an average of 22 months, the process can range from 12 to 44 months.

Do Braces Hurt?

Most of our patients at University Centre Dental Associates do not find braces painful. There may be a little discomfort after the initial application and following some of your appointments. This aching or tenderness is temporary and can be eased with over-the-counter pain medication, such as acetaminophen and ibuprofen.

How Often Will I Have Appointments for My Braces?

The schedule for your appointments will be based on your individual needs. Our braces patients normally have appointments every four to six weeks.
